Dating guide

I've definitely learned that it might not be that bad to get rejected as I previously thought.26 F here. I wasn't or am not "looking" for a relationship desperately but now I just feel like I really want to be with someone. I'm not unattractive or anything, because I do receive a lot of attention from men (and hookups are easy).Idk if it's because I'm the only child or don't have a lot of close friends in the city. Initially, I did have my walls up and just wanted to have fun but I believe I'm a little grown up now and atleast want to date a guy and not just keep going on some random dates. I (F27) met a guy (28) online and while we were online everything was perfect, so sweet and understanding and convo flowed easily.Hey r/dating_advice, For the last several weeks I've been going to the bar in order to socialize and improve my social skills a bit.Until yesterday I have only been joining random groups of people while not particularly looking for anyone to meet personally at a later date.Yesterday was a bit different however, I joined a mixed group to play a few games of pool. There was one particular girl that caught my eye and seemed really nice.

"Please don't assume we're going to the nicest restaurant in the city because I won't take you there. How do you tell someone you can't go on another date because your self esteem is too low and you're insecure? I have been through some hard times that were outside of my control and I managed to overcome them.I guess the short answer is going back to therapy and not dating. However, it caused a lot of trauma and when it comes to my love life I put up sooo many barriers that it becomes hard to let people in.Don't ask your friends to tell you everything they can because you can end up with a tainted view of what to expect.Half the fun of going out is getting to know someone new, so allow yourself to let that happen organically." —Oliver B."Please don't compare us to your exes—out loud or even in your head.

Once we met up the spark was kind of there but not a huge spark though I decided to give another try bc our texts still flowed so easily. Out of the guys, I think every single one that I did like, ended up not liking me and cutting things off.

  1. After all, it's hard to deny that the process is time-consuming at best, since it means translating a novel-sized amount of dialogue (sometimes more depending on the number of branched storylines and endings)...
